Yes, I finally finished my new business card! I’m very happy with how it turned out. I especially love the colors!
Last year Wilma Seijbel, who was then setting up a new publishing company, Uitgeverij Karmijn, asked if I would like to illustrate the cover for their Dutch edition of the Goose Girl. The Goose Girl, written by Shannon Hale, is a young adult book based on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale by the same title. It is a book I would have absolutely loved when I was a teenager: intrigue, royalty, and a wonderful heroine – it doesn’t get better than that! Illustrating a cover for a novel was one of my big dreams, so of course I said yes!
And now the book is here! The cover turned out beautifully, with all the colors just right. I’m going to give it a place of honour on my bookshelf!
Last week I finished a little booklet I can give to people to help them understand my hearing impairment. It visualizes several aspects of my hearing loss, and gives some basic tips on how to communicate with me. I loved doing the illustrations (these are real situations I face every day!), and made some late hours getting it done. Now it’s time to share it!
